Architecture Board Terms of Reference Toolkit

Audience

This toolkit is dedicated to Architecture Leaders or the other senior roles like CIO, CTO, CDO, COO who want to frame the role of Architecture Board in their organization and are doing it first time. This toolkit is less focused on changing the formula of the Architecture Board if that exists. AB change will be supported by some other methodological toolkits.
What

This toolkit represents key areas of the Architecture Board definition. Starting from justification, it goes through the rules and decision scope and ultimately explains the very administrative aspects.
Why

Many organizations base their Architecture governance on Architecture Boards. Instead of giving whole decision making to Archtiecture team or its leader, they prefer a collaborative decision making. We would like to support this trend and as always give a simple, pragmatic tool, this time to define key areas or AB. This should accelerate overall process of framing such body due to a clarity of the messages for the stakeholders.
